Your body is your wisest guide

Your body is your wisest guide

Let her speak to you

Let her invite you home

Her wisdom is in the tight pull of your hips and thights

Aching from a lifetime of holding your vulnerabilities

Move patiently and breath here.

She can’t release all of her stories at once

Her wisdom is in the tug around your shoulder blades and neck

Reminding you of the way she labors everyday to keep you shielded from heartache

Move graciously and slowly here

her efforts to protect you cannot be shut off so quickly

Her wisdom is in the clenching of your jaw

Providing a refuge and energy center for all of the words that never made it past your lips

Open softly and lovingly here

Those words have inhabited this space for decades and may no longer know their way out

Her wisdom is in the acceleration in your pulse when you expand your chest and open your heart

Fearing what might happen when the heart is less hidden within the cage of your ribs

Stretch gently and tenderly here

She doesn’t want to feel so exposed

Her wisdom is in all of the places you may seek to

adjust,

twist,

push,

pull,

open,

close,

move,

or even force your way into into with a distaste for her limitations

And still, she is calling you home to share her wisdom.

Will you listen?
